Recovery Attentions of Explosion-proof solvent recovery equipment

Calstar solvent recovery machine is designed with indirect heating method for recovery process. It`s reliable and stable. There is no danger in whole recovery process which is guaranteed by seal-off tank and main explosion-proof components. However, it may cause ultra-temperature and smoke if operation and maintenance are against with instructions. The likable situations are as below shown.

a) Residual is not discharged completely and cause residual accumulation. And the accumulated residual will be carbonated in high temperature environment. Even more, less recovery ratio, automatic off time delayed and smoke caused.

b) Temperature controller is setup incorrectly. If temperature setup of machine off is higher or too close to the heating temperature, machine will be unable to shut off automatically. It means the machine will continuously heat and cause smoke. Also, smoke might be occurred by high temperature setup of Heat Transfer Oil.

c) Solvent input is too much and exceed the max level, or the solvent is very viscous and cause air bubbles which blocks output channel. Please try to recover solvent after storing the solvent until solid impurities fell down to tank bottom and reduce solvent input level.

d) The area between seal ring and tank is not cleaned up completely and will cause vapor escape. If any heat resource around, it may cause smoke.

How should we deal with smoke situation?

a) Do not open the tank cover when smoke caused. There will be no risk to keep tank cover sealed.

b) To shut off machine`s power. To clean machine after 12 hours cooling. It is good with air blowing and water to reduce temperature of machine. However, if tank cover opened without machine entirely cooled, massive oxygen gets into tank and will cause risk of fire.
